Along with my wife's previous office mates we were able to visit Kawasan falls before it was closed for rehabilitation and development reasons. This was my first and only waterfall experience (yet) and I enjoyed it a lot. We are even planning to maybe go back and see the improvements after the rehabilitation hoping for a better experience.

Kawasan falls is located in the Southwest part of Cebu in Brgy. Matutinao, Badian. It is a 3 (or more) hours travel from the heart of Cebu yet it should always be worth it because Badian is rich with a lot of tourist destinations like the Moalboal Beach, Lambug Beach, La Playa Resort, and other water falls. Kawasan houses not just 1 but many other series of waterfalls and natural pools for swimming, though the most famous is the first one that you see after a short walk from the main entrance and is usually crowded.
The trek to the falls was not strenuous because of the gravel and concrete trails provided for the tourist, not to mention the view going to the place especially the long river adds a relaxing effect to our hike.
How to get there:
- From the Cebu South Bus Terminal find a bus (I suggest an AC bus) going to Badian Cebu. You can ask the conductor to drop you in Kawasan falls.
- Entrance fee (as of March 2013) is 50php.
