Hidden Valley Mountain Resort - the closest you can get to nature

The main reason why our fate brought us to Pinamungajan, a far Western part of Cebu was because of the waterfalls and the cave that they have there. Ivane and I ended up staying in Hidden Valley Mountain Resort instead because we decided not to go on with a risky trek because of the rain.

Hidden Valley Mountain Resort is located in a remote area of Pinamungajan Cebu;  the travel going there via motorcycle was quite an adventure especially when it rains. The slippery road, the cold air and the gloomy sky were fun yet scary if you will not divert your attention to the nice scenery instead. When we reached the resort there was a total silence, there were only a few people walking around plus it was raining during that time. Just imagine you hearing the birds singing and the rain dropping from the roof.

The convenience store.

We went to one of the cottages after we pay the entrance fee and got our towels from the reception area. Ivane and I tried to swim in the cold pool but it was not a good idea so we decided to grab the camera and took some pictures instead.

The entire place was huge;  plenty of rooms to choose from and different pools for both children and adults. It must have been a better visit when it was sunny and hot. The entire place was nice, I like the mountains so this should be one of the places I might visit next time with friends and family especially when I want to come close to nature with all the fog and the mountain around us.

Foggy view of the mountain.

What to expect in the place:  (as of April 2013)

  • Entrance Fee 50Php  for adults (12 years old and above) and  30Php for kids (1-11 years old)
  • 4 swimming pools
  • Rooms are from 1,500Php to 4,500Php
  • They have different function rooms good for a huge group; the biggest they have can even accommodate more or less a hundred people. (Good for weddings, birthdays, or debuts)
  • A fishing lagoon
  • Botanical garden
  • A convenience store
  • Playground
  • Life size animal figures
  • Near the resort is a cave and a waterfalls (that we weren't able to visit)

How to get there:
In the Cebu South Bus terminal, find a bus bound to Pinamungajan Cebu (no AC bus available).  Another option is through One Citi Link Terminal via V-hire going to Pinamungajan. When you reach Pinamungajan, find a motorcycle that will bring you to the Hidden Valley Mountain Resort. or pretty much you can bring your own car.. :D

for more information and reservation you can reach them at (032) 516-0450.

  4. The resort looks nice. But do you think it can be accessed by other means of transpo, other than a motorcycle?

  5. If this resort can be reached only by motorcycle, I think it's really hard since I travel with my family and it would be hard for us to just ride in a motorcycle. Are there any other modes of transportation that we can use?

By the way, the place looks huge and I like the resort because of the cold weather and there are lots of activities that we can do aside from staying in the cottage.. :D

Weather is not always a let down in photography, in fact, it's possibly what you need to get a more interesting photograph.
I do feel your disappointment by not being able to visit the falls as the original intention..
    but this resort is amazing!
